Claire Sharp has been with Mutt Magic since 2014, and is certified directly through us. Claire is an experienced handler, with 15 years experience in the field! In the past, she has raised guide dogs and also functioned as an area coordinator in the placement of these dogs. Currently, she volunteers for a local rescue, rehabilitating large and harder to place dogs with behavioral issues. Claire currently manages our private lessons in Montgomery County.
Aja Harris-Brown is our head trainer and behavior specialist, has a background in working canines, and successfully competed on a national level with her own dogs. (Earning the title of 2009 Working Pit Bull National Champion, among others!) She is certified through Animal Behavior College, is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, canine CPR certified, a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and a former appointed member of Baltimore City's Animal Hearing Panel. Aja volunteers on the board of directors for The Humane Society of Harford County, The Working Pit Bull Terrier Club of America, and also volunteers services to local shelters and rescues. She enjoys working with dogs of all breeds and sizes and seeing owners develop lasting relationships with their dogs!
In addition to teaching private lessons, Aja is in charge of managing the Mutt Magic Team. She assures continuity through the training programs, and that you will have access to the most experienced and professional dog trainers the industry has to offer!
Daquan Ferguson is an obedience instructor and CGC Evaluator. While the newest member of our training team, he is not new to dogs! He brings to us a background and knowledge of working dogs in sport, and enjoys helping people read their animals, to meet their needs. He recognizes that each dog is different, and will be able to help tailor your training, for best results. Daquan currently teaches group classes with us in Harford County, as well as private lessons in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Harford Counties.
Jill LaPorta is an obedience instructor and CGC Evaluator. She has been a part of the Mutt Magic team since 2013. She is also an Animal Behavior College graduate! She brings volunteer and working knowledge from veterinarians, rescues, the Humane Society, and animal control. Jill currently teaches group classes and private lessons with us, in Harford County.
